We (when I say we, I am referring to all involved, meaning my mom and sisters, my Aunt Shelly, her 5 girls, my Grandma Dixie, and LuAnn) kicked off the afternoon by presenting Jenessa with the horror-of-horrors ugliest wedding dress that looked like it belonged on a polygamist compound. It was no doubt homemade, but not very well, as it ended up at the DI, where we snatched it up for our bride to wear the entire night!
To her credit, the dress didn't look too bad on her....
To start off the festivities, we all got pedicures at the beauty school in Logan. Not so embarrassing yet....just wait!
Ready for a night out on the town! Pretty Pedi's-Check!
And so began the fun.....for her first task, Jenessa had to stand in front of the mall and panhandle for funds. Here is our "Homeless Bride in need of funds," cardboard sign, complete with her very own tin can.
She actually did get one nice gentleman to crack a smile a toss her a few pennies. Panhandle for funds-Check! (On a side note, there was a guy that glanced at her as he walked by and said in a rude tone, "Get a job" or something to that effect. Since when do homeless people panhandle in a wedding dress...obviously he lacked a sense of humor--It's only a joke, people!)We then made her tour the mall, passing by each store with her pathetic excuse for a cardboard sign. At least she did it with a smile on her face! Humiliating Mall Walk-Check!
Next stop the local DI. For those of you not familiar with Utah lingo, the DI is the equivalent to the Goodwill or Salvation Army store. Her task here was simple, just find the biggest pair of granny panties and ask a worker if they were used. The guy behind Jenessa in this picture actually got quite a kick out of our soiree. Gross Granny Panty Predicament-Check!
Now, time for my personal fav buying a pregnancy test at the dollar store, which if you think about it is an iron oxymoron that is rather funny in itself. Jenessa did it with a wink and a smile. Poor Pregnant Bride Shame-Check!
We went to Fredrico's for dinner, but this stop was not lacking a task for Jenessa to complete. She had to ask other patrons for marriage advice and take notes on what they said. It was really funny, but she did gain some valuable bits of advice. Here she is with my mom, who has a really mischievous smile on her face. Public Humiliation-Check!
We couldn't let the night go by without including my hilarious younger brother in some way. He actually had the guts to dress up in this hideous polyester bridesmaids' dress, courtesy of the DI, and surprise Jenessa in public. He made a convincing old lady, and we all had a good laugh at his good-natured expense.
These two look like they belong in a wedding party from the 80's. What a pair! Funny Younger Brother Visit-Check!
Finishing up the evening, we posed for some cute group pictures. Some nice random guy took these pictures of us......I love good Samaritan's. Making Unforgettable Memories-Check!
Believe it or not, some of us actually rolled down this huge hill after this picture!
At the end of the night, we ate dessert at the delicious Firehouse restaurant. Here we are -my beautiful sisters and me. Three sisters that have all been brides now-Check!
