Picture this in your mind: Perfectly trimmed bright green hedges lining the streets, burgundy stamped concrete sidewalks running parallel to the silky smooth white sand of a picture-perfect beach, houses-more like mansions-made with imported stone sitting in pristine landscaping, a cool sea breeze rhythmically moving along the coast as the suns' rays shine along the horizon. Sound like a dream? Well, this imagery packed place actually exists and its called Palm Beach, Florida. For our weekly date night, Keith took me to Palm Beach. Little did I know, I was in for a big surprise! Palm Beach is unlike any place I have ever been. We crossed Lake Worth via the resplendent-looking bridge and instantly it was like we were in a different world. I describe it as a nautical 'Alice in Wonderland' meets the upscale classiness of Bel Air with equal parts of elegance, grandeur and majesty around every corner. We walked along coast with Stryder and thoroughly enjoyed dipping our feet in the warm ocean surf as the sunset graced the sky. (Sidenote: We even met this random couple from Poland who live in the Wellington area which is the place with a personal private runway....yeah, for a personal private plane. The wife kept asking me-and this is verbatim-to set her 26 year-old son up with "good nurse girl." We exchanged information with them, so any single nurses out there wanting to date a Polish lawyer can let me know.) We took a drive around Palm Beach and stared with our jaws dropped at the mansions neatly groomed to picturesque perfection. We then stumbled upon Worth Avenue, a.k.a. the Rodeo Drive of Palm Beach. This even more upscale area furnishes stores like Chanel, Neiman Marcus, Louis Vuitton, Tiffany and Company, Gucci, Valentino, Ralph Lauren, Brooks Brothers, Bvlgari, Juicy Couture, Maxmara, Escada, and Jimmy Choo, just to name a few. We left our fairytale land and once again crossed the stately bridge into the downtown area of West Palm Beach, which is also markedly untarnished for a big city. We dined at a great Greek restaurant called Tavern Opa in the Cityplace Plaza, an outdoor mall area with live music, lighted fountains, and a wide assortment of bistros for any taste (Thai, American, Italian, Greek). I especially loved the gyro I ordered. It had a splendid cucumber sauce with a hearty portion of lamb served on a warm Parmesan pita. Keith and I chatted the entire ride home how completely awesome it was to visit this immaculate place called Palm Beach. What a great date!

Hey, I just noticed you have a blog. Awesome! Stryder is so cute! Don't you love being a mom! We are moving to Wyoming soon, not quite as exciting as Miami, but an adventure for sure!
